Electrolysis

Electrolysis is the only method approved by the FDA to permanently eliminate hair.

This technique involves the insertion of a very fine sterile probe into the hair follicle. A tiny amount of energy is then delivered into the root of the hair, which destroys the hair growth cells. 

Electrolysis differs from other hair removal methods as it tackles hair on an individual basis. Although this is a longer and more delicate method, its thoroughness is what enables permanent hair removal. Hair grows in a cycle of three parts, (anagen-catagen-telogen), for treatment to successfully remove a hair it must be in anagen phase (growing). For this reason, multiple treatments may be required to catch the hair in anagen phase, therefore permanently remove all hair from treatment area.

Skin type and hair colour do not in anyway influence electrolysis treatment.
